Trim Pregnancy -an e-book just for you

Trim Pregnancy is an e-book that is written by a pregnancy fitness professional, that focuses on the main worries and problems that women have during their pregnancy and after.
The book is aimed at outlining programs that are healthy, natural and stress free.

A perfect pregnancy fitness plan

Basically, the Trim Pregnancy e-Book focuses on a pregnancy fitness plan that will help you find a routine that is aimed at controlling weight gain naturally during pregnancy that is healthy for both the expectant mother and baby. This fitness routine of controlling weight gain with a healthy diet and exercise routine should give a host of benefits to the expectant mother, including but limited to the following:

•    Improved circulation
•    Enhanced flexibility which helps in childbirth
•    Preventing/reducing loss of muscle mass which translates to better metabolism
•    Eases back pain and other physical strains associated with carrying a child
•    Gives the mother an overall feeling of wellness

The special diet plans and exercise plans are combined to be appropriate for each of the pregnancy stages. The exercise routines educate the expectant mothers on the importance of maintaining a good cardio and strength training program .

You can go  directly to Trim Pregnancy

Pregnancy and child birth are major milestones in any woman`s life. It is both awe inspiring and heartwarming, however, after the initial euphoria, the not so pleasant changes that come with pregnancy and the whole 9 months might be enough to put a bit of a damper on the happiness of any expectant mom. The aim of the book is to let you experience the fact that pregnancy can be a happy memorable experience.

The special combination of a healthy diet and exercise routine teaches expectant moms to pay attention to their cravings and not overindulge in certain foods as this could signal some deficiencies in their currant diet. The book stresses that portion control is one of the easiest ways to ensure that overindulgence during pregnancy is not a problem.

Pregnancy weight gain

Gaining weight is not only inevitable but necessary during pregnancy to keep the both the mother and fetus healthy and happy. However, there must be some effort made to keep the weight gain within manageable limits as excess weight gain could possibly lead to complications during the pregnancy and delivery. Exercises that are designed for each phase of pregnancy are an important key to the easing of labor and well being of the expectant mother.

Exercises that target the butt, hips, thighs and stomach that are the common areas where a woman usually gains and retains weight are the main focus of the exercises that are laid out in the book. These exercises are designed to also help mothers regain their pre-pregnancy figure with less effort and at a faster pace.

The book also recommends yoga as a way to really listen to and be aware of what your body is telling you.The author also recommends keeping a journal as a way to de-stress and vent by keeping track of your feelings and thoughts and keeping a positive outlook. support groups are also recommended as there are others who will be able to relate to the whole pregnancy experience with you.  All these measures should allow the expectant mom to really appreciate and enjoy the pregnancy experience from the very beginning to well beyond the childbirth.

Getting back that pre-pregnancy figure is a major concern so the last chapter is all about the step by step easy to follow after birth weight loss approach. Since mothers will be most likely be breast feeding, caution must be taken against excessive dieting as nourishing their new babies is the most important concern and as an added bonus, breastfeeding burns a lot of calories,so breastfeeding is advised .

This is a two month exercise and diet program is guaranteed to help women get back to their pre-pregnancy body and look as though they did not give birth at all if the program is followed to the letter.

This eBook helps to prepare for the challenges of motherhood and to enjoy life with their children healthier and happier and is an excellent resource for all expectant mothers to make the pregnancy experience one of remarkable periods of their life. The Trim Pregnancy E-Book is a guide for expectant mothers in their lifestyle change.

Your Questions About Pregnant Diet

James asks…

Is it okay to drink caffeine free Diet Coke while pregnant?

Since the two things that make pop bad for pregnant women to drink are caffeine and sugar, is Caffeine free Diet Coke alright? I would only be drinking about one or two cans a week. Thanks.
Would root beer be better because it has neither caffeine or artificial sweeteners?

admin answers:

OMG just drink a normal can of coke, 1 or 2 a week will be fine they say a small amount of caffeine is fine ie I coffee a day is ok 1xcoffee= ( equivalent) 6 times can of cola

Maria asks…

How bad is an occasional diet Mt Dew while pregnant?

Since I became pregnant, I have completely given of soda (with the exception of a tiny bit of ginger ale for nausea I have had none at all). I never drank much any way. My question is how bad is an occasional (less than once a month) diet Mt Dew when I need energy?

admin answers:

Not bad at all, they recommend keeping caffeine under 300mg a day, as for the diet part, the sweetener they use is safe during pregnancy also. The sweeteners they don’t recommend is Sacchari (Sweet ‘N Low) and Cyclamate

Richard asks…

Are pregnant women in prison given a diet with more calories?

Are pregnant women in prison given a diet with more calories to counteract that their bodies are consuming more with a growing child?

admin answers:

They receive medical care and their diets would be adjusted according to the needs. Babies born in prison remain 48 hours. If no family members will take the baby is turned over to foster care/adoption agencies.

Jenny asks…

im taking diet pills and i just found out im pregnant, is the pills dangerous to my unborn baby ?

i was taking diet pills for a month, not knowing i was pregnant, could diet pills harm my unborn baby
i was taking diet pills and didn’t realize that i was a month pregnant. is this harmful to my unborn child

admin answers:

As long as you stopped as soon as you found out, things will probably be fine. Try not to worry about the past, but only concern yourself with your and baby’s health here on out. Take care, and congratulations.

George asks…

How much and what do you eat? just want to compare my diet to other pregnant women!?

I just want to compare my pregnancy diet to other people out there who are also pregnant. Im currently 34 weeks pregnant, so if anyone is roughly the same stage can you please tell me how much you eat on a daily basis and also what you eat, please be truthful though, thanks.

admin answers:

I found i ate no more when pregnant than normally. Also had no cravings (though I did drink more milk – it helped with the heartburn).

I can only attribute that to the Sanatogen Vitamin supplements I was taking, they covered everything I could possibly want.

I was told very sternly by one woman not to listen to people saying that I was eating for two and I actually only put on the baby’s weight during my pregnancy.

I think that the type and quality of food you eat in pregnancy severely affects the way you eat and the way you react to pregnancy.

The vitamins were my advantage. But I started taking them almost immediately I found out I was pregnant.

Your Questions About Pregnancy Workouts Dvd

§ May 16th, 2012 § Filed under Pregnancy Without Pounds § No Comments

Carol asks…

I need a good diet?

I would like to weigh 130lb but currently am between 142-143lbs. I gained the weight throughout my pregnancy 6 1/2months ago. But I can’t loose the 12 lbs. I tried execricing, but don’t have much time because i have 2 infants. I want a good execrise plan/DVD workout that is fast and wouldn’t take all day. And easy follow up diet.

Thanks

admin answers:

I always turn to yoga on my fat days; 143 pounds is not heavy, by the way. If youre over 5’2″ then thats around average. I’m only 14 so i probably shouldn’t be talking about amazing exercise programs but yoga is a very good muscle toner; there are alot of yoga studios around everywhere and there are dvds so you can do them at home too, it can go anywhere from 20 minutes to around an hour and a half, three to five times a week. Its a great muscle toner for abs and arms and butt. Pilates is good too, and since you have two infants its a good stress reliever ! :)

hope this helped !

Betty asks…

Working out while pregnant?

I’ve always worked out about 4-5 times a week and have continued to do so since I found out that I’m pregnant, albeit on a more moderate scale. I used to do kickboxing and speed walking at 5 miles an hour on a 15 incline, but have now cut out the kickboxing and do elliptical, stationary bike, or walking at 3.5 miles an hour on a 15 incline.

I’ve also recently purchased a prenatal pilates DVD that I’m planning on starting soon.

Also, I’ve noticed now that I’m pregnant that I feel like I need more air, as if I need to take deeper breaths. Because of this, it’s harder to work out as well, but I know it’s healthy for the baby so I keep doing it.

Anyone else feeling short of breath? Are you working out during pregnancy? How often, how rigorous are your workouts?

admin answers:

Always talk to your Dr. Having said that it sounds as though you are being smart about cutting out some of the more strenuous things. Studies show that the more active you are the better it is for delivery and recovery. I push mowed my 2 acre yard up until about 5 months and I have twins! After that I had to stop because it was too much. I only have 4 weeks left and I go to the Y with my honey and walk on the treadmill. Granted it’s the lowest setting and only for about 20 minutes but it’s better than sitting on the couch! Just remember to listen to your body! Good Luck!

Maria asks…

Exercises for my tummy & upper body?

Hi,

I had my delivery last year. and due to my busy schedule was not able to exercise. the result of this was i ended up with the mommy pouch. i have come back to my pre pregnancy weight, but my tummy is still bulging out as if i am 5 months pregnant. really looks bad.

also i want some good upper body exercise to shape up & lift my breasts. also for the shoulders.
also having low back prob which we usually have after deliver. so the doc advised me to do strengthening exercise for the back
i dont have the time to got gym or any other fitness center.

if u can suggest me any good exercise dvd that can cover all my requirements it will be really helpful. bcoz i dont want to do anything on my own & aggravate the pain. something which is easy to understand & also to be able to do with the baby around.

i have heard from one of my friends abt the QuickFix Workout which has workouts of 10 min session.

please help me as i am just 26 & dont want to look like an old lady….

admin answers:

Hi,

I am a personal trainer and I could suggest a few exercises that you could do without spending money on a DVD. First get a good music CD and all you need is 10 to 15 minutes a day. I suggest you do a brisk walk around your block (if you can) to get warmed up, if not jog in place for 5 minutes. Set your clock for 10 minutes, and do push ups (knee push ups if you can’t do regular) shoulder press ( no weight), bodyweight squats, crunches, leg raises, repeat these exercises non-stop for the allotted time. End with another 2-3 minutes of brisk walk or jog in place. I would start with 10 reps each exercise depending on your fitness level. As you get stronger, add 2-5 pound dumbells on presses and squats.

Daniel asks…

getting back into shape after having a baby?

hello,
i had my baby 6 months ago, and was just wondering if it is even possible to look like you haven’t had a baby? i am proud of my body and all, for all it has been through, enduring pregnancy and child birth, but i look back on pictures of me before i got pregnant, and i feel like crying!! i used to be toned, 50 kilos, and most importantly- healthy.. now i am FAT, 80 kilos, and very very unhealthy… can i ever be like i used to be? or is this body my body for the rest of my life?? i have just started a low calorie diet, and 2 hours workouts a day, that’s cardio and weights! Pilate’s in the morning/zumba also another “fat blast” dvd!

have you had children and have bounced back to a healthy attractive weight??

admin answers:

I have not had children but i have seen others who have and have gotten back to their old body after the baby. It is hard work, but it is not impossible. It sounds like you are on the right track with all the exercises you listed. Just work out as you would of pre baby and I am sure the results will show after some hard work =]
good luck !!

Charles asks…

Any mom’s try the P90X workout?

So my friend and I started P90X last night! Wow, it kicked out butts! haha My sister did it and lost 2 inches in 2 weeks. I am hoping to tone up my belly, mostly because after having 2 kids, any time I eat a big meal, I look 5 months pregnant again! lol I just don’t have the ab strength I used to! I’m not looking to lose weight, just tone up, and possibly lose that last bit of belly and back fat from pregnancy. So moms, have anyone of you used this program? How did you do? How much do you workout with it?
My friend and I did half of the Plyometrics dvd and the whole Ab ripper x dvd- and when i day “did” I mean kept up as best we could! LOL We are going to workout 2x a week together. I’m thinking we should do more? What do you think?

Today, I am feeling the burn….. :)
Leah- it took my friend and I an hour to do both. The Plyometrics is actuall and hour long dvd, but we could only do it half way and we ‘gave up’ lol! We moved on to the Ab Ripper X which was only 20 minutes! The nice thing is the instructor gives you alternative moves incase you aren’t in shape or can’t do something, and it switches every 30 seconds so it never gets ‘boring’! I’m going to do the workouts 2x a week and probably take my girls out for a walk for 30 minutes each other day… I let you know how it goes! lol!
I Love Mason: Well, my friend that did it with me is fairly large, and although she couldn’t do everything, she kept up pretty well! You can go on ebay and get it cheaper. My sister got it for $80! Here is a youtube video with samples: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CIpSoMgTsaw
Sorry, I meant Olivia not I Love Mason :)

admin answers:

Good for you! I looked into P90X back when I was more serious about working out…LOL I kind of fell off the wagon lately, I just feel like I don’t have nearly enough time. I work full time and until 6:00 in the evening 5 days a week, so the only time I have to exercise is on the weekends, which is time I would rather spend with my muffin.

Anyways, all of the people I talked to about it said it was great! That it’s TOUGH but really works. I remember trying to do some piddly kick boxing workout I found on YouTube…I literally made it halfway through and had to stop before I keeled over. I’m SO out of shape!

How much time did it take you guys to do those parts of the DVD? Keep it up and let me know how it goes!

Your Questions About Pregnant Weight Loss Diet

§ May 15th, 2012 § Filed under Pregnancy Without Pounds § No Comments

Richard asks…

Not really weight loss but toning? while pregnant?

Ive just wondered if its possible to, i dont know how to explain it but,
i guess like this.
I dont like my arms.. i have flab and its always drove me nuts so in summer i never wore tang tops, just short sleeve shirts so it would cover the top of my arms.
Well this summer im going to be huge, and pregnant, and hot and I know im gunna want to wear loose tang tops and dresses ect to stay cool and not sticky, i was just curious if there was a way to fix it w/o being able to diet.
Same with my thighs… being summer I just want to tone up so I can wear shorts ,ect cause I put on a few pounds over winter (cellulight sp? lol)
Im only 18 weeks and already gained 12 pounds.
Went from 150, to 162 =[
Anyone that can answer my question?
I didnt ask for a way around it. I asked if I can do anything about it

admin answers:

Yes it is possible because I am doing it. I was overweight when I got pregnant. I am now 22 weeks and have only gained 2 kgs (about 4 pounds I think?). This is because I have been eating really healthy – lots of fruit and vegies and lots of water and I have been swimming everyday.
But I was overweight at 198 pounds (90 kgs) and 5’8 – I don’t think you are but just want to tone up. Swimming is the best exercise for pregnant women as it takes your weight and is also great for toning your arms and legs – and keeps you cool.
Of cause always seek medical advise from a medical expert before doing any exercise while pregnant.

Chris asks…

how to start running for weight loss & general fitness?

I would like to take up running, I’m 27 and over weight, I weigh 13 stone and I’m 5’7. Now my child is at nursery I have FREEDOM! no seriously I have time to exercise properly with no distraction, I have 3 mornings a week to myself.

Where do I start?

I used to represent my county during high school, I have been fairly slim and fit up until I got pregnant.

I’m working on my diet, but what about the running?

Any tips or advice would be great thanks.

admin answers:

Start off slowly and work your way up, running just minutes at a time with a minute recovery and so on. If you google training for a run site they give you week by week plans. Couch potato to 5k is a good site, good luck with it

Donna asks…

Losing weight when pregnant?

I suspect Im pregant(and yes I went and had a blood test today so I will know in 2 days) but I have a question. I started a weight loss plan not so long ago and lost about 15 lbs..and would like to lose about 20 more to get to my healthy weight. If I AM pregnant..I dont see that happening…I guess what Im asking is, is it ok to still diet and exercise while pregnant? I know you are supposed to gain weight but can I just stay at my current weight since I am about 20 lbs overweight, and count that as the weight I am supposed to gain? Or am I relegated to putting on more pounds?

I will ask my doctor..Im just asking for some opinions on here.
Thank you all very much for your answers. It is much appreciated!

admin answers:

I was in the same situation! I was about 30 pounds overweight, then lost some weight, then found out I was pregnant. Yes, it is still safe to continue most exercise regimens while pregnant (do check with your doctor on specific exercises), and you should continue to eat healthily. You don’t have to gain ANY weight in the first trimester (and probably won’t, if you follow the same eating patterns and exercise patterns as you have now). I actually LOST 10 pounds in my first trimester, but don’t actually aim to move the scale. Just aim to do something healthy for your body and not gain any more unhealthy weight for that 3 months. Then in the second trimester you’ll have to add another 300 calories to your diet, and at that point your doctor will want to see you start to gain. My doctor wants to see a 20 pound weight gain overall, and yours would probably be something similar. You’re no supposed to just NOT gain any weight, because at least 15 pounds of your gain is necessary (the baby is about 7.5 pounds, extra water is about 5 pounds, the placenta is 1-2 pounds, your breasts can gain a pound or 2…etc). If you only gain 20 pounds, only 5 of it will be something you’ll have to work to lose afterward (well, and your tummy will need toning, regardless). You CAN be healthy and get in shape during pregnancy, if you happen to be pregnant, it’s just not healthy to actually aim to lose pounds or keep them off completely, especially after the first trimestrer, as that can keep nutrients from getting to baby, as well, and cause him to have a low birth weight…low weight isn’t good for baby!!! Good luck, stay healthy, and I hope you have the results you want!

Robert asks…

Weight loss question. When you do not have the time to excersise?

I have a daughter that has had a liver transplant and cannot go to any kind of gym daycare or out to parks because of the germs. I have about 20 excess pounds from being pregnant with her and cannot seem to drop it. I do not have time or opportunity to get to the gym and I am at the hospital stuck in a room with her about 50% of the time. PLEASE does anyone have any suggestions or know of any diet pills I can take to try to lose this weight??? Pills that actually work that is? Please help.

admin answers:

Take a couple walks through the hospital if it is ok to leave her room. As for pills, I took Phentermine and you need a doctors prescription. Doctors only will prescribe it if you need to lose at least 20 pounds. You want to lose 20, but your doctor might not see it that way. They are expensive if you don’t have insurance that will cover it. I wouldn’t take anything over the counter. And thats because I have tried at least 4 OTC weight loss meds and they did nothing. Phentermine really decreases appetite, but you develop a tolerance in a matter of a couple months and it will no longer work. So you need to try your best to do some exercise, even if it’s only once or twice a week. Otherwise you won’t lose all 20 pounds and the effect of the drug will wear off. Hopefully your daughter will be healthier then, and you can get out for some walks. God bless and good luck. I wish the best for your daughter as well.

Sandy asks…

need advice about my diet during pregnancy?

What kind of diet (not weight loss diet) would be best for a pregnant woman with severe morning sickness? I have lost 20 pounds in 3 months and am 14 weeks pregnant. I mostly have trouble eating breakfast, so I need a meal plan not including breakfast. I usually eat one to two meals a day and its commonly a turkey and cheese sandwich and either yogurt or fruit. I am afraid my baby isn’t getting enough nutrients because I haven’t been able to take me prenatal vitamins and keep them down. What should I be eating each day? A 7 day meal plan would be great. Nothing heavy on the stomach please..

admin answers:

Some lunch ideas, grilled salmon veg and noodles soup with pasta(weird, but tasty) with wholemeale bread , bannana sandwiches make a nice light luch if your quesy. Other lunched can be grilled chicken with new potatoes and salad. Yougurts are a great snack. Anougther easy quick luch is weatabix with strawberrys and milk.

Evening meal ideas Rice with prawns and stirfry veg.Ham and cheese toasties(also a good lunch) Tofu plenty of veg with a nice sauce. Stuffed pitta bread: You can stuff with salad and beef, or whatever you fancy, Turkey is a good meal idea but try and include potatoes and veg. Spinniach is really good for you also as ity contains iron. Even a nice very mild home made curry, for somereason this helps my even sickness.

Hope this is of some help

Your Questions About Pregnancy Yoga

§ May 14th, 2012 § Filed under Pregnancy Without Pounds § No Comments

George asks…

Yoga during pregnancy?

Is yoga safe to do during the first trimester? 8weeks 5days preggers with first child. Also what should I avoid cause I’m afraid of having a miscarriage and don’t want to harm my baby in anyway.

admin answers:

There are several yoga classes that are geared specifically for pregnant women. Try googling some in your area.

Betty asks…

Yoga and pregnancy?

Has anyone done yoga while pregnant? What is it like and was it worth even going to? I’m trying to find some kind of workout program that doesn’t get my heart rate up like runnin. Just claming my stairs in my own house gets me winded! Any other suggestions also would be great!

admin answers:

OMG!! I would seriously be lost without my yoga practice. Let me tell you why it’s awesome for pregnant women:
1) It helps to relieve muscle tension by gently stretching everything out
2) It relieves back pain and pressure
3) Many prenatal yoga classes and videos automatically have to do Kegel exercises – necessary for making labor and delivery go easier
4) there are some strength developing exercises (think squats) that feel great on your back and help to tone your legs. Additionally, it strengthens the muscles you will use during labor
5) there are usually easy ab exercises that will again help you during labor
6) It is calming.
7) It increases oxygen flow to you both you and your growing baby. 8) It can or can’t increase your heartrate – it’s up to you.
9) I personally feel amazing after an hour long practice session.
10) All yoga poses can be modified to your expertise and trimester

Some words of warning:
1) Pregnant women should not practice any extreme twists and/or head/shoulder stands
2) It’s usually not a good idea to do any poses that require you to lie on your back

If you take a class, try to take a class specifically designed for pregnant women or tell your instructor how far along you are. A video I highly recommend is Shiva Rhea’s prenatal yoga video – she has modifications for every trimester and it is soothing while not pushing you too hard (http://www.amazon.com/Prenatal-Yoga-Shiva-Rea/dp/B0000BYNMH/ref=pd_bbs_sr_1/102-8578328-8696957?ie=UTF8&s=dvd&qid=1178292055&sr=8-1)

Have fun!

Lizzie asks…

yoga and pregnancy?.?

is yoga safe for pregnant women? my chiropractor of all people said it wasnt really good for pregnant women.

admin answers:

Wow…yes, there are some great prenatal yoga programs out there…you would want to avoid the twisting motions, but the stretches are fantastic for you.

Michael asks…

Yoga and pregnancy?

IM 18 weeks pregnant and i found out about this place that gives yoga to pregnant women, im really excited and about what ive heard this place is really good. however they only do it one class a week…. :( i really wanna have something to do out of the house everyday is one class a week too much in the case of pregnant women ?

admin answers:

You can do as much as you feel comfortable with as long as you dont over do it. One class a week is a start, you mite meet some other women there to spend time with and there’s always other things you can do on different days like swimming (which is fab when your pregnant! And really good excercise) or something similar.
Have fun

Mary asks…

does yoga help pregnancy…..????

dose yoga help when your pregnant and if so how does it help??

admin answers:

I’m a Dad and I know that any mild exercise helps the pregnancy in that the impending new Mom is staying in shape ! I don’t know that much about yoga but it would seem to me to be an excellent venue and unlike running or strenuous exercise does not jar the Mom and baby !…and it gives a chance for “Mom to be to relax” and it’s not costly except for time which is fun time ! *S*

Donna asks…

Are vaginal creams safe during the first trimester of pregnancy?

I have been diagnosed with bacterial vaginosis and I am 11 weeks pregnant. The doctor prescribed Gynazole 1 cream, Clindesse 2 % after a week and antibiotics for 7 days. I just want to know if it is safe to use the creams this early in pregnancy.

admin answers:

Yes this is safe the other oral med which is flagel (the generic brand) can be toxic to your infant if taken so vaginal is great

Chris asks…

How much weight did you gain during your first trimester of pregnancy?

I have gained a pound and a half but was sick up until about 2 weeks ago. I am slightly overweight so I am trying to stick to only gaining 15-20 lbs with this pregnancy (it is my second pregnancy).

admin answers:

My first pregnancy (in 2005) I gained 10 pounds. A lot of it was swelling because I developed high blood pressure. Now I’m 14 weeks and I’ve only gained 5 pounds. I still eat the same as I did before so I don’t know why there’s such a big difference. I did have morning sickness with this one but never actually got sick. I think your doing good!! Just take your docs advice. If he/she says you need to gain more…you better start eating!! Congratulations!!

Susan asks…

Is having a whitish discharge normal during the first and second trimester of pregnancy?

I am about 17 weeks pregnant and have had a white discharge that is pretty heavy. It doesnt itch or anything, is this normal for pregnancy? Or does that sound like a yeast infection?

admin answers:

Yes it is normal, and it will only get heavier!!

If it ever turns a yellowish green or has a foul odor, call your OBGYN.

Best wishes!

Your Questions About Pregnancy Dieting

§ May 12th, 2012 § Filed under Pregnancy Without Pounds § No Comments

Robert asks…

can you avoid extreme weight gain and stretch marks during pregnancy through dieting?

we are studying pregnancy and the female and male reproductive parts in health class i was just wondering if you could avoid stretch marks and becoming fat by dieting and excercising and using a tub of vaseline or a bottle of olive oil on your stomach a day. would this help? will following a weight loss diet be harmful? say if you ate a daily menu like this, would your stomach still grow big?

Breakfast: 1/2 mango, 2 slices pumpernickel bread, 1 tbsp almond butter

lunch: 4 oz. grilled chicken breast, 1 whole wheat hamburger bun, 1 green salad without dressing

snack: 3 cups air popped popcorn w/o butter

dinner: 1 1/2 cups macaroni salad, 1 cup steamed asparagus.

snack: 1/2 cup low fat/ low sugar ice cream.

admin answers:

Dieting to lose weight when pregnant can be harmful to the mother and the baby. Its best just to eat healthy.

I’m of the thinking that if you’re going to get stretch marks then you’ll get them. I was pregnant with my first the same time my friend was pregnant with hers. We both used coconut butter every morning and night. My stomach looks like a map and hers is smooth as the day she was born. I was actually smaller than her throughout the pregnancy. She ballooned but you couldn’t tell I was pregnant until I was about 7-8 months along. It sucks and I’m still using cream for stretch marks 10 years and another 3 kids later lol

Donald asks…

What is a good pregnancy diet?

Just wondering about a well balanced pregnancy diet. I would like to know how much water I should be drinking. (if you could tell me how many oz that would be great!) Also how many calories I should be eating throughout my pregnancy to not overeat. Thank you!

admin answers:

64 ounces a day.
Check with your physician who is handling your pregnancy for diet and any restrictions, like sugar, salt etc.
Don’t forget exercise, walking about 20 to 30 minutes a day will make you feel mentally better and physically better
Good luck and congrat’s on your being blessed

Maria asks…

Dieting/exersise after pregnancy?

I want to begin dieting after my pregnancy and get rid of the excess weight I gained. I am only 8 days postpartum. Is it too soon to start dieting? I am not breast feeding, so I wouldn’t be depriving my baby of anything. I would love to hear experiences and advice on dieting and exercising. I don’t want to push myself too hard too soon. Thanks!

Try to be patient and give it some time. I have breastfed both of my boys, so I can only speak from my experience with that…but my body sort of did whatever it wanted to in those first few weeks regardless of what I ate of how I exercised.

After my first son was born, I made myself miserable trying to lose the weight really quickly and my body just had a mind of it’s own. You can read my story here if you want http://www.physical-fitness-for-women.com/losing-weight-after-pregnancy.html

I would say to just try and relax and enjoy your baby for those first few weeks…then you can worry about losing the weight. If you want more ideas and advice, check out this page http://www.physical-fitness-for-women.com/baby-weight.html

Sharon asks…

Did your doctor tell you to eat liver once per week during pregnancy?

My pregnancy diet specified eating liver once per week. It was certainly not something to be avoided.

admin answers:

Yes because of the high iron content – blech I avoided it like the plague!

Susan asks…

Anyone drink a lot of diet soda during pregnancy and have perfectly normal/healthy children?

I just read about the possible terrible effects that drinking diet soda during pregnancy can have on your developing baby, particularly autism. My doctor advised me that diet drinks in moderation was perfectly okay, but now I’m very nervous about the effects this may have had on my baby (due in one week).

Overall, I would say I’ve had maybe about 10 diet drinks per month during pregnancy, possibly even less. Has anyone else drank diet soda during pregnancy and had healthy children?

admin answers:

Yes, i drank probably 4 cans a week, and my child is fine.

I always think that when these reports come out its people who take things to excess that can do the damage – like 10 cans a day – sort of thing.

I’m sure you will have a beautiful, healthy baby!

Good Luck :)

Your Questions About Pregnancy Workouts At Home

Daniel asks…

How to lose weight after having a baby?

I am the proud mommy of a baby boy born July 29th.

During my pregnancy I gained 45 pounds! I am 5’1 and 150lbs.
I am so ashamed and depressed about how Look that I really want to do something about it.

I am so exhausted from being a new mom that I just don’t know how to do it.

And I don’t have anyone to watch my precious little one while I workout So all my workouts have to be at home.

I’ve tried jumping rope and jogging around the back yard but my breasts are so sore from breast feeding and lactating.

I’ve been eating very well mostly fresh foods but I need to find a workout I can do even when I am exhausted from being up all night.

So, how does a new first time mom work off the weight?

admin answers:

I lost all my baby weight by eating healthy, natural foods..and for exercise i just took the baby for a walk or if it was cold i’d walk up and down the steps while watching tv..anything to make me feel like I’m not working out. Simple things like thinking of cleaning as an exercise. You get more done and you move quicker. The only actual “workout” I did was pilates..not the windsor where you pump and move really quick and get all tired! Just basic pilates..which works complete wonders on your core muscles…your stomach, butt and upper thighs…and hips as well. I’m telling you this really worked and I still do it! It’s a breeze and it makes you feel stronger. Plus I breastfed too which helps melt a few pounds.

I’m so tired but If I know an actual number I need to commit to every day I know I’ll stick with it.

admin answers:

KEEP BREASTFEEDING!

I gained 40 lbs with my pregnancy (first pregnancy) and with breastfeeding, a good diet with a few walks here and there it disappeared.

When the weather is nice take your baby for a walk… Walking is excellent exercise and baby will enjoy it too. If you can’t walk outside find a mall and walk laps around it.

Robert asks…

Good workout while pregnant?

I’m 17 weeks pregnant, and I had a pretty intense workout schedule, once upon a time. Then I slacked off, & now I’m pregnant, so I’m trying to find a exercise program I can do at home that is safe during pregnancy.
So far I’m working towards:
50 sun gods (small circles with your arms)
20 lunges to each side
20 squats (no weights)
20 pushups
& 35 i’m not sure what you call them on my ab coaster.
& walking 2 miles a day.
doing that 4-5 times a week.
I’m mainly wanting to lose a little “fat” & stay healthy throughout my pregnancy. I’ve never been heavy, but I’ve never been one to snack, now that I’m pregnant, I’m snacking more & more. Would you suggest less or more? Differing routines you find that work?

admin answers:

You shouldn’t do any exercises during pregnancy without talking to your dr first. A usual rule of thumb is you shouldn’t exercise more while pregnant than you did before you were pregnant.
There can be a lot of risks involved, like overheating, and raising your blood pressure (both of which pose a risk to your unborn baby) so it should be discussed with your Dr.

Michael asks…

How to: lose the belly, increase the booty?

Hi everyone..! hoping someone with experience can help me..

I just had a baby 7 months ago, and I’m back to about 10 lbs more than I was pre-pregnancy.. but I’m feeling like I’m losing all the good curves and still have a bit of belly fat.

So far I’ve only been dieting, and I’m assuming the only way I can get some curves back is by working out.. So does anyone have ideas for a good routine that I can do at home? I need a workout that won’t take too much time each day, that I can do indoors. I have an elliptical and my boyfriend has some weights and a bench that has the attachment to work out your thighs/buttocks (?).

I know I have good equipment but I need a good routine that will show me the results!

Thanks!
So how much cardio should I do? Will 30 mins on the elliptical a day do it? or will it take more than just that?

admin answers:

Drink lots and lots of water and do cardio.

Mary asks…

post partum workout..?

hello, my daughter will be 5 weeks old tomorrow, does anyone know what kind of exercises i would be able to do to get back into shape by summer. My pregnancy weight was 115 and my weight now is 143. i would LOVE you be 120 by summer. i started a few days ago, everyday doing 70 sit ups, 50 push ups ( not all at once ) and crunches and leg workouts.
does anyone know what else i could do around my home?
i have a 3 yr old daughter as well who just loves to do these exercises with me.

thank you

Sarah.xo
i was breastfeeding, but do to my daughters tongue tie, she wasnt able to latch on properly, it is now clipped but by then my breats were empty.
so im bottle feeding, and its much harder to lose the weight!
unfortunetly!:(

admin answers:

If you’re breast feeding, the weight should come off fairly quickly and easily, especially if you eat a healthy, balanced diet that’s low in sugar & fat.

You can also go walking; walking is a FABULOUS exercise for the whole body, especially when you’re pushing a baby (or two).

Your Questions About Pregnant Weight Loss Diet Plan

§ May 10th, 2012 § Filed under Pregnancy Without Pounds § No Comments

Jenny asks…

Conceiving while obese? Dieting while pregnant?

I am currently obese but my husband and I wish to get pregnant. My plan was to originally lose all of the extra weight and then get pregnant, but we are on a tight time line. We want to have our children aged a part only a certain number of years and if we wait till I lose weight, my daughter will be at least 8 and that’s too far apart for us!

So my question is, can I eat healthy to lose weight while I am pregnant (I don’t eat but once a day right now). This is how I have lost weight before, by eating 6 small meals of fresh produce and proteins–nothing processed, no added sodium. I know that this is healthy for both me and baby, but I don’t know how the weight loss will fair out. I really want to lose some weight and not be 300 lbs when I am pregnant

P.S. If I absolutely HAVE to wait, then I will. The babies health is more important.

Thanks!!!

admin answers:

This is something you would def. Need to talk to your doctor about. If you really think you ca do it then i would though! If you can eat healthy and walk daily, maybe, then i think that would b healthy! Please stop eating only once a day are you crazy????

The only thing is is that i said with my second pregnancy, i wouldnt gain as much weight, BOY was i wrong! Holy moly. With my daughter, i was only 130, at the end of my pregnancy i was like 190. That is a HUGE difference. This time i was 162 and im only 29 weeks and i weigh like 192! I love to eat and its so hard. I plan on trying to start a healthy lifestyle after my son is here!

I would get pregnant, eat healthy and then if you lose weight you do; after baby comes lose weight.

Good luck!

Thomas asks…

Working out, lifting weights, and weight loss questions.?

Two co-workers and I go to the gym at least 4 days a week, sometimes more. I am doing a high protein, high fiber diet of around 1,200 calories a day. We use all the weight machines, free weights, treadmill and stairstepper. I wonder how long it will be before we begin to see weight loss on the scale. I realize that gaining muscle will cause you to sometimes gain weight before you actually loss, but I was curious as to how long it may be before we see results on the scale. It has only been 3 weeks, but at this point I have not budged on the scale. Am I doing something wrong? Any suggestions? I have an 18 month old son and still have about 30 pounds of pregnancy weight on me. I plan to get pregnant again in about 4 months and really want that extra weight off before I gain baby weight again. Thanks in advance for any help!

admin answers:

This may sound odd, but you might not be eating enough. 1200 calories is the bare minimum recommended intake for women, and with all your gym work, you’ll be burning heaps more than usual.

Counting calories is good – giving you body less food than it needs each day will force it to burn fat to make up the difference – but if you eat too little, you body will pull out all it’s tricks and go into “starvation mode” where it burns away your muscles and turns as much incoming food as possible into fat.

Lookup a bmr calculator to see how many calories you need to eat each day to maintain your current weight, then knock off 500-1000 from that figure to lose 1-2lbs a week, either by eating less or exercising more or both (as you’re doing :) .

Also, check out this website – it’ll help you figure out how many calories to eat, how many you’re burning with your exercise etc:

http://caloriecount.about.com

Good luck!

Maria asks…

I am starting the Cytomel and Clenbuterol stack. Can anyone give me their weight loss results?

Hello All. I have ordered my Cytomel and Clenbuterol stack and will be using them for weight loss. I underwent fertility treatment almost two years ago and the fertility medication had me put on 30 pounds then I was able to get pregnant. I had lost most of my pregnancy weight after having my son with breast feeding and such. After my son weaned from BF around 8 months, I gained a good amount of weight back quickly. So, I spoke to my Doctor and started a low 1,000-1200 calorie diet and had lost about 30 pounds in 6 months, along with exercise. However, no matter what I do at this point, I am not losing. In fact, I have put on 7 pounds in the past two months and it doesn’t matter what I do, it’s not coming off. I even tried to bring my calories up to 1,500-1,600 to see if that was the problem, however that did not work either. Anyway, I plan to continue working out and eating my raw diet (I am a vegetarian) and want to use the Cyt/Clen stack to add (hopefully) in my weight loss goals. The only reason I am on here is not for exercise or diet advise; as I have been working in healthcare for 9 years and have worked on diets and ppl with diabetes and such so I am fully aware; I just want to get actual weight loss results from people who have done this please. Also, I am a female, 5’5 175 lbs. I was 220 after having my son. Thanks

admin answers:

Yes good results can be achieved. I had good results with it. I’ve done the one week off one week on and also 2 one and 2 off. I prefer the second one. I used 50mg of T3 and up to 100 mcg a day. Work like a charm. Was on a strict diet for 10 weeks. Working out 4 days a week and add cardio 5 times a week. Needed to lose a little bit of fat and mostly water. Lost over 14 pounds, got shredded. I was 205 pounds for 5’8.
I also from time to time like the ECA stack. Done that before. I did 3 weeks of Clen and 3 weeks of ECA.

Hope it work well for you

Chris asks…

I am getting married next year on 10-10-10. What is a great diet plan?

I use to weigh 120 before after 1 child. After I was pregnant with my second I got pregnant right after wards with my third. I now weigh 140. I want to get back to 120. I have been losing weight but VERY slowly. I already lost 15 lbs over the course of a year and a half. Too slow!

I work out every day for 30 minutes doing kick boxing. I went on a diet of protein shakes and veggies only. This helped but, I get sick of eating only veggies. I had stopped that and went back to just eating normal food for two meals a day.

I try to stay away from fatty food but my fiance loves to cook and cooks so good but way to fatty. How do I get him on the same page of my weight loss so I am not tempted by his wonderful food? I also get cravings to eat at night while attending online schooling. I love snacking.

I have never had a problem with foods because I always had a fast metabolism. Now it is just slowing down and I don’t know how to readjust my life to fit my metabolism. Diets don’t really work for me unless they are good ones. I have tried lean cuisines until I found bugs in one of them. Now they just make me yak. I stay under my calorie intake but don’t seem to be losing weight that way either.

If you have any suggestions or “diets” that involve real food let me know! I need help! Don’t let it be diet pills or anything unhealthy. I would still like to maintain a healthy lifestyle if at all possible.

Thanks a bunch!
I don’t drink anything but water through out the day. I hate sodas they are disgusting to me. The only thing I will have other than water is milk and that is about a cup a day sometimes every other day. I’m just big on eating.

They still do aerobics in kickboxing. I don’t like to run. It’s just not my thing. I also have 3 kids at home so it is hard to manage my day for what I would need and like to.

I also want to keep my spenditures down since I am paying for my wedding that is costing a ton. So no weight watchers or pills please. Thanks.

admin answers:

FIRST BEFORE ANYTHING:
DO NOT BUY ACAI BERRY – THEY ARE A SCAM.

Ok :)
Congratulations on your wedding!
What a brilliant date to get married on!

I’d consider going to weight watchers
Set yourself a personal goal and work to it

ALSO Buy a nintendo wii
I lost a lost of weight playing mine. Its fun and keeps you moving.
A Wii fit is a good idea! You can put a weight gain or loss target on there, it’ll track it for you and make you do the right amount of excerise daily.
And/Or
Join a gym, go three times a week
And/Or
Go for a 45 min run a day

Glug back 8 glasses of water a day (The excercise will make you thirsty)
Allow yourself ONE other drink a day such as tea or coffee
Drink fruit juice on top of the 8 glasses of water.
Avoid things like coca cola at all cost. If you must drink it, consider it a once a week treat for doing so well!

Eat wholemeal toast for breakfast
Salad for lunch
Something healthy for dinner
Theres loads of amazing recipes.
Try things like
Baked Potato
Spaghetti Bolgnese (Make your own sauce! Blend Tomatoes, Mushrooms, peppers and onion together with some spices)
Fajhitas
Make chips fresh and oven bake them
Theres loads of ideas on the internet

Try and eat chicken and fish its very lean.

Avoid takeaways completely. Once you have one – you’ll want another next day.
Treat yourself to cake or chocolate once a week.

Its about overcoming hunger.
If you feel hungry, get some fruit or veg.
There are things like snack-a-jacks which are low in calorie.
Also low fat biscuits.

If you really want to do it – you will
It’s intense so you just gotta go with it and do the best you can!

Its a good thing for all your family
You can teach your little kid about healthy eating at the same time!

Have a good wedding and best of luck to you!
X

Your Questions About Pregnancy Yoga Classes

§ May 9th, 2012 § Filed under Pregnancy Without Pounds § No Comments

Mark asks…

What are the odds that I am pregnant?

My period was due May 12th, it is now 4 days later. I have been really tired lately but have also started taking bikram yoga classes which may be causing me to be more tired than normal. Also, I was constipated for all of last week, now this week I have been able to go and have alot of gas. I feel bloated and my boobs are sore but not extreme. My boyfriend and I normally use condoms but last month we used had sex a few times using the withdrawal method. A couple of those times were around the time I believe I may have been ovulationg. I took 2 home pregnancy tests, one on friday and another on sunday and they were both negative. What are the odds that I am pregnant? Is there something else that could be causing me to feel this way and delay my period? thanks.

admin answers:

You’re not pregnant don’t worry. My period was 2 weeks late last month lol I almost had a heart attack. A lot of it has to do with stress, not sleeping or eating properly, physical activity. I think its the yoga classes. Don’t worry you’re fine.

Sandra asks…

Pregnancy questions….?

I recently posted a question about a negative test and what I should do since I hadn’t had my period for the month of August and do not show any signs of having my period at all.

I am a smoker and want to know how to quit smoking effectively. I heard that if you quit suddenly it could be bad. Any websites or books would be helpful.

Food intake: what books are good for finding out the best foods to eat. Extra note: I do not like to eat meat! Also I do not drink milk. I prefer soymilk. What should I eat or drink to replace these? What is the best soy milk to drink while pregnant?

I have over the counter prenatal vitamins are those okay to take now until I find out for sure and a doctor prescribes me some?

Any other books or information about a healthy pregnancy and healthy baby will be great.

Also if I am pregnant I want to have a natural child birth. Only for the fact that I hate medication and I hate the feeling of being medicated. I seriously would rather die than to be medicated. I was medicated for surgery a few months ago because I was having bad headaches (didn’t have surgery they just did it because if my CAT scan showed something I was going in for surgery immediately). Is there anything to help me have a better child birth?

Any exercises better to do? I know yoga is really good and I am going to sign up for the next class.

admin answers:

Quitting suddenly is not bad–sometimes quitting immediately works for a lot of people if they are quiting for the right reasons and not for other people, i personally do not like to idea of have the nicotine patches as you are still getting the nicotine you are addicted too and i have seen a few times that it can make it harder to quit. So you have to know what would suit you better. Also figuring out the reasons why your smoke is a good idea as you can work on avoiding these and not ignoring WHY and instead opting to get away and smoke.

I like “Feeding your bump” a very good book about what to eat during pregnancy and it isn’t all filled with recipes which you’ll never make, but it does have a couple recipes in there.

Yes it if fine to take prenatal vitamins now. Just don’t take normal vitamins if you could be pregnant

A book i HIGHLY recommend for a natural birth is “Ina Mays Guide to Childbirth”, it is absolutely amazing and is a must read especially if you are wanting a natural birth.

If you want to chat about natural birth youre more than welcome to e-mail me, i can give you tips and advice etc =)

Mary asks…

What would be a good routine to get me in shape?

I am currently 5’6″, 178.2 lbs, and 17 years old. My BMI is 28.8 which puts me in the overweight category, almost obese. I got pregnant when I was 15. Before my pregnancy I was 5’6″ and weighed around 135lbs. I feel as though I looked healthy at that weight and I definitely felt healthy. During my pregnancy I put on a lot of weight clearly and have yet to take it off. For the past year and a half I have been yo-yo dieting and my weight has only been fluxuating by about 10 pounds. Everytime I simply think about altering my diet (like cutting out fast food or soda) it seems to make me want food more and I end up binge eating. Before my pregnancy I think I may have been bulimic or maybe I had another unclassified eating disorder. I feel as though it’s something that has continued after having my son. I eat normally, no binging, but then I throw up everything I eat. I don’t even have to gag myself it just comes up.

However, I still just maintain this weight. My eating habits are awful. I cant really cook so my boyfriend and I eat out for almost all of our meals. At my primary job I sit at a desk all day, and then I also do house cleaning several times a week but thats not much exercise. I go to school as well, and with my son, work, and class, I dont have a lot of time for working out.

Since my pregnancy I have had chronic pain all over my body. Mostly my hips and back. I really enjoy yoga and I was wondering if it might help with my pain. However, there isn’t a yoga class offered at the gym I have a membership at.

What can I do to get rid of this extra weight and get my health back?

I’m chinese, my mexican guy friend?

Okay so we met in History class, I’m turning 17 on October and He’s (Leo) turning 18 on Nov. We talk alot in History class, we talk about our culture. He’s 100% Mexican and I’m 100% Chinese (born in USA). He start talking how he hated Mexicans when he is Mexican himself and I question him.. “why you hate mexicans when your mexican”? He’s like I hate the way they act and stuff, they think theyt he shitt. & he talks about he hates mexican girls too, they always think thye pretty and sexy.. I’m like.. im that too =] he’ like no you just act normal. Lol. He told me he wouldnt date mexican girls.. So he just dislike them and he doesnt look mexican at all, he looks like dominican and purto rican. Or some little mix there.

Everyday afterschool he have night school and gets out at 7pm, but on Fridays he gets out normal school time. He ask me what I do afterschool, ask me if I will go with him to eat and then movie.. I’ like okay sure no problem.. then on Friday we didnt go to eat and movie, he told me he’s taking me to his sisters house to watch movies because her house have alot of movies. He’s like I dont bite. lol. So what does it means when he take me to his sisters house? Even tho he was making sure if shes not home but his nepfews are there? And theres a chance his sister will be home? We went in there and his nepfews are nice to me and all. After awhile his sister came home and they were talking.. then Leo told me his sister likes me Lol. I’m like.. haa okay. He ask me if I’ll go with him to his friends Baby Shower, a girl got pregnant from our school.. But i dont know who is it.. and cause today we didnt go to movie theater, he ask me if I go with him on Tuesday or Wedsday because theres school off.. So.. does that means he likes me or ..? I’m not sure.. After his sister house we went to eat dinner at a American Diner. We talk alot and we had a great time.. We talk about Teen Pregnancy and what we’ll do about it if it was either of us.. But look, I’m a Teen mom myself.. I have a babygirl 10 months old.. I dont know if he’ll stop talking to me because I’m a mom.. I haven’t told him yet.. But I said “do you believe Im pregnant before? You seee all thes fat in me =[" And he's like no you lieing. He was a very nice guy.. he laughs at everything. We have alot in commen like talking about our culture.. how we dislike this and that.. I personally hate mexicans.. but not all of them.. I mean the pervs one? that call you sexy on the street out of nowhere in NY? Yea them -_-. They made me hate mexicans. No offense if your mexican.

But Leo is diferent.. he would sit next to me during my free period in school when he suppose to be in class. haha. I ask him why you dont sit with your frds? He's like cause you here always by yourself and i dont like sitting with them.. Im like why? He's like I told you i odnt like the way they act and they talk about stupid stuff.. Lol. So that made me laugh. hehe.

He takes me to class like everytime we bump into eachother.. one time I ask him if I could change in the bathroom and then take me to yoga class he's like okay sure and then ask me if he can run to class and get a pass and come back here wait for me while I go in changing.. I'm like thats like im bothering him and annoying hi.. he he didnt say that he's like i dont mind.. "i'l be back as fast as i can =)" I'm like okay then. He came back and walked me to yoga class and he went to class.

But like after that dinner on Friday.. he doesnt text me or call me.. he said he's going to call me at 7pm to make sure if I can go to baby shower with him.. he asked me a few times if my mom let me out late.. during the dinner he wanted to take me home ealry so my mom wont worry about me.. So Im not sure about him..

He tells me how he like girls that are older than him and i told him I like guys who are a few years older than me.. we're like the oppisite. So I dont know.. tell me about him? Or he just want to make friends with me? like Just friends? I dont mind having a friend like him because he's nice unlike other mexican guys.. He said he'll teach me spanish and stufff.. Do you think he likes me ? a lil bit? or not even? Or you think he's a player? Tell me about it..

We also talk about our first bf/gf and if we dated other races.. I told him my first bf was african american and he dated a chinese girl in middle school.. so yeah.. thats about it. Thanks for reading all this =]
Oh, and I show him how camwhore i am.. the pictures i took on my cellphone.. he ask me to send him one of my pictures and he said i look mad pretty..?

Wow, I found your question long and confusing. I guess this dude likes you? It’s really hard to say tho the way you wrote this out. It’s too confusing!

Mandy asks…

Totally lost, completely confused. Regarding the father of my child – adult advice preferred…?

Long story that I will make as short as possible. I’m 31, he’s 40. We have both never been married or have had children, until now. We have a 4 month old daughter. Him and I only dated for about 6 months before I got pregnant – when I found out I was pregnant, he didn’t want to be involved and we went our seperate ways. I went through my entire pregnancy perfectly ok being by myself, I never called him or cried over it. I had a great pregnancy. 2 weeks after she was born, I sent pictures and that changed his mind completely. He decided he wanted to be involved and I was ok with that, honestly a little happy because now my daughter would have her father.

He is an extremely “spiritual” guy – does yoga 7 days a week, meditates, all that spiritual, hippie-dippie stuff. 2 months after she was born he decided to take a temp job (for 2 months) working with his friend 10 hours away – I was ok with that, too. His reasoning was because he wanted to make money to help support us. He let me know he was going to give me $500.00 a month and did the first month. He just got back 5 days ago and told me while he was here he was going to give me $250.00 – he didn’t feel he should have to not have the money to buy things for his guitar, go to yoga, etc. etc.. OKAY, this isn’t about the money – let me get to the point.

The first night he got back, after being gone for 2 months, I got a real bad vibe from him. He just wasn’t as excited to see his baby as I guess I was hoping. He stayed the night with us and wanted was hoping she would sleep all night so him and I could spent time together. He was very detached from her and seemed more interested in me. We talked that night and he told me, very firmly, that he wanted me to know that his role in life will never be “a father.” This really kind of freaked me out. He is a father, that is his role. A couple days later we got in a small argument because I told him that it didn’t seem like he was making his daughter his priority. His response? “She isn’t my priority and she never will be. My number one priority is ME. My number 2 priority is her. He’s always been very selfish and back and forth and now I am starting to regret letting him come back. I fear he will keep doing this her entire life. I told him that I could not imagine growing up and having my parents tell me I wasn’t their number one priority – it would make me extremely self concious, I would imagine. He told me that he will never sugar coat things with her and always be honest. He said, “none of that – NOT IN FRONT OF THE BABY stuff…. if we have disagreements, she should be there hearing them. If she ever wants to try drugs, I will hand her a joint. I’m not going to make her think the world is something that it is not.”

My sister and another friend are telling me that this is normal father behavior and they aren’t always that interested when they are babies. I get that his number one priority is him and he needs to be healthy to take care of her, but I just don’t feel it’s something you announce to the world – let alone the mother of your child.

He doesn’t work, I work full time…. my mom watches our daughter and now that he is back he said he will watch her 3 days a week. I feel like he has spent zero time with her, he is a stranger and doesn’t know her routines. He doesn’t know anything about babies. I told him I would get back to him on the schedule and he sent a text saying let me know the schedule so that I can tell you if it works for me and plan accordingly. I MEAN… COME ON!!! YOu don’t WORK!

I guess I don’t want my daughters father to miss her first dance recital because he has a drum circle to go to or a yoga class to attend.

I could be wrong. I’m just so confused and not sure what to do. My gut is telling me to rid him completely because she will be so much happier in the long run with a confident mother that loves her unconditionally.

Thoughts?

The child is his too, you can’t just kick him out. BUT, you don’t have to go out of your way to keep him in her life.

If he wants to be free, then let him be free. Don’t give him schedules, don’t arrange your life around him, to serve him. Let him be in your lives if he wants to. Set him free, really free, if that’s what he wants. If he comes back to her, then he will do it with his own will, without you forcing it. You never will force him. If he wakes up one day and realizes he has lost his little girl, then he will only have himself to blame.

Your Questions About Pregnancy Workouts

§ May 8th, 2012 § Filed under Pregnancy Without Pounds § No Comments

Daniel asks…

Did you workout during your pregnancy?

Now that I am in my 2nd trimester I finally have enough energy to workout now that the morning sickness has become more manageable.

If you did workout consistently, what pregnancy workout DVDs did you use? Women who workout tend to have shorter labors so please tell me mamas how long was your labor?

admin answers:

I took a prenatal yoga class once a week and did my own yoga workout most mornings. It was excellent for keeping me supple during pregnancy and really helped prepare my muscles for labour. My labour was short for a first time mom, at just under 4 hours from first pain to baby arriving.
As your pregnancy progresses, you would be wise to switch to low impact exercise such as swimming or yoga. The pregnancy hormone relaxin allows your ligaments and joints to stretch to accommodate the growing baby – it can also make you much more prone to injury when bending, lifting or working out. If you do continue working out, make sure you follow a program specially designed for mums-to-be.

Enjoy your pregnancy!

Paul asks…

Will my body ever be back to pre pregnancy body?

All, We are thinking of having a baby, our first.
I want to be mentally prepared for all changes – financial, emotional and physical.
On the physical- I have tried to kept myself fit and toned all my life. Will my body ever be the same? Will my breasts and stomach change? This is not going to change my decision- I just want to be mentally prepared.
If I workout after pregnancy, should I expect my body to get back to what it is pre- pregnancy?

Some woman don’t even gain that much weight. I have been eating really healthy and still having the things that I want without making myself think that I don’t need it! I haven’t gained a single pound yet!!! I’m 25 weeks. As long as your baby is growing and gaining weight it is fine!

The only thing that has gotten bigger (beside the fact that my tummy is filling and pushing out!) my boobs are bigger and fuller. Everyone is different! Good luck!

Joseph asks…

will excersize during pregnancy keep the pounds off (not all of them)?

If you were to go to a doctor and nutritionist and personal trainer and figured out a safe pregnancy workout will it keep the pounds off? not all of them, like 15-19 lb gain with excersize.

admin answers:

It should help you to only gain “Healthy” weight for the baby’s sake and not like just fat. Also exercising during pregnancy will help you during labor and delivery! Just make sure not to over do it.

Charles asks…

How to get rid of belly fat from pregnancy?!?

I need to lose belly fat from pregnancy,I have lost weight everywhere else and am below my pre-pregnancy weight, but I have a belly buldge that will no go away! Im starting to think the only way to get rid of this is a tummy tuck! I want answers besides “Do ab workouts and eat right”

admin answers:

All I can say is that the muscles have been stretched out. They take time to get back to normal. Tummy tucks are great if you have overstretched skin with stretch marks hanging like what doctors call an apron. They do tighten up the muscles while they remove the extra skin, but other than that, it truely is only possible with time, or a good ab workout. The good thing is that with weight traing on the abs, it tones up super quick. Some women end up needing a bit more help than a workout though and you’re the only one that knows your body type.If it hasn’t been more than 6 months or 9 months(if breastfeeding) then just wait and see(if you don’t want to work out)
good luck..ps…I’m getting a tummy tuck :-) did the other stuff and need extra help myself.

Linda asks…

Is Turbo Fire workout program safe during pregnancy?

I’m obese and started Turbo Fire exercise program 2 1/2 weeks ago. Now I suspect I’m pregnant (hopefully going to clinic this afternoon). Should I continue the exercise or switch to something less intense? I really enjoy it though and am getting much fitter. For those who don’t know, it’s a cardio kickboxing program similar to Turbo Jam only more intense. I’m also eating healthy.

I would see how your appointment goes. You are just starting out so you could follow the girl on the right who modifies the moves…she doesn’t jump and I would definitely not do the CORE or ABS workout. Chalene has a lot of moves that uses the torso and core so if you are pregnant you probably want to skip these as well. Strength 30 and Tone 30 should be fine you may need to modify some moves

The HIIT workout may be to much as well since it makes your HR go really high and then rest and then really high again. Stick to EZ 55, EZ 45, maybe the Fire 30, 45 just skip the drill part when the siren goes off. Good luck tomorrow!!!
